Vietnam: Nhan Co Alumina refinery achieves remarkable results after 5 years of commercial operation

Nhan Co alumina refinery owned by Dak Nong Aluminum Company holds one of the two pilot projects in the new industry development – the mining and processing industry of bauxite ore to produce alumina towards the production of aluminium has reported that after 5 years of commercial operation from 2017-2021, with the unremitting efforts and striving of the Dak Nong Aluminium staff, the project has achieved remarkable initial results and gradually contributing to a breakthrough towards the economy in particular to the Central Highlands region.

Dak Nong Aluminum Company was established with the direct task of managing and operating Nhan Co Alumina refinery with the goal of profit, effectively using capital and resources assigned by the Coal-Mineral Industry Group (TKV), contributing more and more to the State budget, creating jobs for local workers, accumulating resources and sustainably developing the mining and metal industry.

During the first phase of the company's commercial operation, it countered many difficulties and challenges, as the company managed and operated a production line with advanced technology with a team of young and young skilled workers who have no practical experience in alumina production. The alumina production line has not been stabilized, whereas, the alumina price in the world market has increased and decreased abnormally. But with a sense of responsibility, high determination, with the right management and direction of Vinacomin's leadership, dynamic and decisive management of the Board, the Company's leadership and the spirit of "Discipline - Concentricity", efforts for the common goal of more than 1,100 employees, the Company strives to fulfil the assigned objectives.

The alumina products produced by the Company are primarily exported to Japan, Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, and etc. The products sold are strictly tested for quality, hence alumina products of Dak Nong Aluminum are favoured and trusted by many customers around the world.

During 2017 – 2021, Nhan Co alumina refinery has delivered unexpected results, specifically in the last 6 months of 2017, the project has had a profit of over VND 13.6 billion, earlier than expected time.

Along with production and business, DNA always focuses on the rights and interests of employees, constantly improving and improving the quality of the environment, working conditions, ensuring good jobs, wages for officials and employees. Presently, the company has created jobs for more than 1,100 employees with stable income.

After 5 years of operation, Nhan Co Alumina has made a significant contribution to GDP growth, increased revenue sources for the state budget, and contributed to creating momentum for the economic and social development of Dak Nong. From 2017 to the end of the first quarter of 2021, DNA contributed over VND 1,446 billion to the State budget.
