Sipping wine and saving the planet, one glass at a time! Would you still choose something else? An UK-organic wine company, Vinca, has introduced their wine in full-sized recyclable aluminium bottles and is currently available in more than 300 Tesco stores across the UK this week.

Vinca started its operation back in 2021 and is highly recognisable for its collection of award-winning canned wines. With sustainability at heart of every industry, Vinca has introduced 100 per cent recyclable 750ml aluminium wine bottles priced at GBP 9 (USD 11.66).
The company’s PCR (post-consumer recycled) aluminium bottles make the wine within it chill faster with a wine-grade lining side ensuring the freshness of the content inside. Moreover, the use of aluminium ensured that companies emit a lesser amount of CO2 during the production in comparison to glass packaging.
The lightweight feature of the aluminium aids the company to reduce the overall weight of the bottle. One aluminium wine bottle weighs 68g, where an average glass wine bottle weighs around 450g. Aluminium makes product transport easier by allowing the use of smaller cases, ensuring additional 40 per cent wine bottles in a single shipping container resulting in reduced carbon emissions.
Besides this, retailers who sell wine bottles can store 3 aluminium bottles in the place of 2 glass wine bottles. This provides them with an advantage to add more to their inventory as well as increased shelf visibility.
Jack Green, the co-founder of Vinca, said, “We are so excited to finally share our fully recyclable full-sized aluminium wine bottles with the world! Our canned wines have quickly become the ‘go-to’ wine at music festivals and theatres, and on trains and airlines and now we’re delighted to introduce our new aluminium bottles. They have all the quality and deliciousness of premium Sicilian wine but with less environmental impact than the traditional glass.”
These aluminium wine bottles have been introduced mainly for two main flavours, including, Organic Syrah & Nero D’avola Red (750ml; 12 per cent) and Organic Catarratto White (750ml; 11 per cent). Both the flavours of wine in the newly aluminium 750ml bottle packaging is available in 300 Tesco stores.
The Wine Buying Manager of Tesco, Sarah Robinson says, “We’re excited to stock Vinca wine in aluminium bottles which are lightweight, easy to transport and quick to cool, making them perfect for summer picnics and impromptu barbeques. In addition, the bottles are easy to recycle and protect the quality of the wine.”
