The Volvo BZL-GML Eco Range is a testament to the benefits of aluminium in modern bus manufacturing. Featuring an aluminium body superstructure, this innovative bus combines superior reliability, safety, and environmental performance. Aluminium’s lightweight yet durable properties make it an ideal choice for enhancing the efficiency and longevity of electric buses.

Volvo Buses Country Manager Marcus Mak pointed out that electromobility is a pivotal solution for a sustainable future. He stated: “The introduction of the Volvo BZL-GML Eco Range will contribute to a more sustainable environment through zero emissions while playing a key role in strengthening industry networks and increasing understanding of superior electromobility technologies.”

A signing ceremony with Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd confirmed the commencement of a trial operation involving the new electric bus for Rapid KL bus service.

CEO Muhammad Yazurin Sallij announced: “The trial operation is targeted to commence in July 2024 and is expected to last at least six months to a year. One unit of the Volvo BZL-GML Eco Range electric bus will run on Route 581, which is the Desa Tasik-LRT Bandar Tasik Selatan route.”

Gemilang ED Pang Jun Jie highlighted the alignment with Malaysia’s green mobility initiatives. “The Volvo BZL-GML Eco Range is timely as Rapid Bus expands its fleet electrification program. Gemilang shares Volvo’s goal of achieving sustainability through electromobility, aligning with the Malaysian government’s initiatives to reduce carbon footprint and promote green mobility in the Klang Valley and other major cities,” he added.
