On September 21st, a landmark event occurred as the first direct train carrying aluminium products left Zhaotong Station in Yunnan Province, destined for Xiaotang Station in Guangdong Province. The 30 groups of aluminium products on board totalled an impressive 1,650 tonnes, marking the first "point-to-point" direct train of aluminium products to be issued by Yunnan Aluminium Logistics this year.
This train employed the "one station direct" mode, enabling it to reach Guangdong Xiaotang Station directly, which in turn opened up a direct transport channel from Yunnan Zhaotong to Guangdong Xiaotang. This resulted in a significant reduction in the number of formation operations and time along the way. Furthermore, the product shipping time was compressed by 3 to 4 days compared to previous non-train transportation time, effectively enabling large-scale and efficient transportation of aluminium products.
Yunnan Aluminium Logistics and Yibin Section of Chengdu Bureau of China Railway worked collaboratively to ensure the smooth operation of the train. Communication and dialogue were strengthened, and coordination and linkage were enhanced from the aspects of operation plan, container source allocation, and transportation organization around the production situation and transportation demand of the enterprise. By providing sufficient machines and labour in advance, the issues surrounding short barge, container loading, and loading of goods were efficiently coordinated and resolved. The operation flow of aluminium products was continuously optimized and adjusted to ensure that the goods were quickly loaded and shipped at the right time.
Moving forward, Yunnan Aluminium Logistics will continue to intensify its rail operations, enhance overall transportation efficiency, and further streamline the export channels for aluminium products in the Yunnan region. The organization will leverage the benefits of large railway capacity, all-weather transportation, low cost, and high efficiency to achieve these objectives. Through these efforts, Yunnan Aluminium Logistics is committed to advancing its position as a leading player in the industry, providing reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions for its customers.
Just a few days back, we came across Capral's initiative to turn its logistical department into a zero-emissions program. Such activities are increasing every day throughout the aluminium value chain so that a foundation for a better, eco-conscious future can be laid.
