Jiangsu Dare Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd. has earned ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) Certification for the manufacture of aluminium foil with main processes including rough rolling, middle rolling, coiling, finishing rolling, cutting, annealing and packaging at Jiangsu Dare Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd. located in Jiangsu Province, China.
Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Jiangsu Dare Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd. has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022). The facility has an annual output of 20,000 tonnes of aluminium foil and produces battery aluminium foil, power capacitor aluminium foil, and various types of packaging aluminium foil for the building, automotive, and packaging sectors.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) was launched in May 2022 following a multi-year revision process. It defines 11 principles and 62 criteria under three sustainability pillars – Environment, Social, and Governance – with the aim to address pressing sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain, such as biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, circularity, and greenhouse gas emissions.
The independent, third-party audit of Jiangsu Dare Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd. was carried out by Shanghai Kylin Certification Service Co., Ltd. A full listing of audit findings outlining evidence of conformances and minor non-conformances is available from page 5 of the summary audit report, linked below. 12 minor non-conformances are noted under Criteria 2.4a-e Responsible Sourcing, 4.1b-c Environmental Life Cycle Assessment - Disclosure, 4.4a-c Collection and Recycling of Products at End of Life - Material Conversion and other Manufacturing, 5.1a-b Disclosure of GHG Emissions and Energy Use, 5.3a-e GHG Emissions Reduction Plans, 6.1a-f Emissions to Air, 6.2a-g Discharges to Waters, 6.3a-g Assessment and Management of Spills and Leakages, 6.5a-c Waste Management and Reporting, 9.7a-h Affected Populations and Organisations, 10.8a-c Working Time and 11.1a Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System. During the Certification Period, Jiangsu Dare Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd. will be implementing a corrective action plan, which will be verified in follow-up audits.
