Average alumina spot price in China shows W-o-W growth of 3.38%; A00 aluminium ingot price moves up to RMB20790/t

On Friday, May 24, the average alumina spot price in China gained RMB 30 per tonne, settling at RMB 3,845 per tonne. As per the SMM data, a surge of RMB 126 per tonne or 3.38 per cent was recorded W-o-W from RMB 3,719.

The alumina prices as of today have shown growth in all the provinces, with Shandong, Henan and Shanxi recording a growth of RMB 30 per tonne to halt at RMB 3,820 per tonne, RMB 3,840 per tonne and RMB 3,855 per tonne. On the same day, the prices in Guangxi and Guizhou also witnessed the same price hike, which settled at RMB 3,845 per tonne and RMB 3,880 per tonne. 

A00 aluminium ingot price

On the same day, China’s A00 aluminium ingot price moved up by RMB 40 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,790 per tonne. The spot contract price is expected to be traded at a discount of RMB 120 per tonne to RMB 80 per tonne. The average price is expected to range between RMB 20,770 per tonne and RMB 20,810 per tonne. 

In regions like Gongyi and Foshan, the prices have grown by a substantial RMB 50 per tonne and RMB 40 per tonne to clock at RMB 20,730 per tonne and RMB 20,720 per tonne. The prices in Shenyang and Tianjin have added RMB 40 per tonne to dock at RMB 20,740 per tonne and RMB 20,840 per tonne.

In Wuxi and Chongqing, the A00 aluminium ingot prices have ascended by RMB30 per tonne to peg at RMB 20,800 per tonne and RMB 20,750 per tonne. In Hangzhou and Linyi, the domestic aluminium ingot prices have also grown by RMB 20 per tonne to arrive at RMB 20,790 per tonne and RMB 20,820 per tonne, reflecting the diverse regional market dynamics. 

The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has lost RMB3 per tonne to stop at RMB 21,763 per tonne. On the same day, the price of aluminium alloy (A356) increased by RMB 50 per tonne to reach RMB 21,300 per tonne, with average prices between RMB 21,100 per tonne and RMB 21,500 per tonne. For aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have shown no change at RMB 20,500 per tonne and RMB 21,500 per tonne.
