At Booth N 426 during the Aluminium USA 2023 Conference, HWI, a member of Calderys, will introduce a broadened portfolio with more product options, services, and technology enhancements for aluminium manufacturers.
Earlier this year, HWI, North America’s largest refractory producer, joined Calderys Group and became the brand for the Americas region of the group. As one of the world’s leading refractory providers, Calderys now offers customers an unprecedented range of products and services.
Increased product portfolio
“HWI’s brick products have long been recognized as the best in the industry. We’re building on our legacy and infusing even more advancements into our solutions with Calderys’ monolithics and pre-shaped technologies, including high performance 80-85 per cent alumina castables,” said Marc Palmisiano, Aluminum Application and Technical Support Specialist at HWI.
“Our expanded aluminium portfolio and unique product combinations translate into more ways for customers to extend the lifetime and reliability of their furnaces to maximize uptime. And our expert teams continue to drive product innovations,” noted Palmisiano.
Examples include HWI’s industry-leading phosphate-bonded brick ALCOR® DV-38 line, complemented by ALKON® SOL CAST HT. This new product helps customers save time on refractory relining and repair work by dramatically decreasing drying times. Calderys’ ALCON® Gun P is a bauxite-based phosphate bond gunning mix that offers versatile and high-speed installation that complements HWI’s proven GREENGUN® technology, offering another high-performing, distinctive combination. The quality and durability of these and other product combinations reduce the frequency of maintenance and replacement, saving energy and resources.
End-to-end Solutions
HWI’s Contractor/Installer (C/I) Network is the largest preferred network of independent contractors and installers in the Americas, ensuring that HWI’s product technologies are leveraged effectively in the marketplace. HWI’s C/I Network members receive preferred training and services to provide high-quality, reliable, and proven installation and service.
Together with customers, HWI and its C/I Network partnerships also enable advanced data analytics implementation to help manufacturers more efficiently manage their furnace life and energy consumption. Together, they can collect, analyze, and deliver critical operational information so customers can maximize the performance of their assets and achieve their sustainability goals.
“In less than a year since HWI and Calderys have combined, we’ve demonstrated successful new solutions in the aluminium market. We’re excited about how we’ve united our expertise and look forward to introducing even more innovation for our aluminium customers in the future,” added Palmisiano.
