China’s A00 aluminium ingot price expands to RMB19770/t; Alumina price falls by RMB14/t

The Shanghai Metals Market, on January 1, 2025, recorded a growth of RMB 70 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,770 per tonne, with the spot contract price expected to be traded at a discount price of RMB 30 to a premium price of RMB 10 per tonne.

On the same day, the prices in regions like Chongqing surged by RMB 90 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,850 per tonne, followed by a hike of RMB 70 per tonne in Linyi and Hangzhou to peg at RMB 19,830 per tonne and RMB 19,790 per tonne. In Shenyang and Foshan the domestic aluminium ingot prices have gained RMB 60 per tonne to reach RMB 19,770 per tonne and RMB 19,970 per tonne. In Gongyi and Tianjin the A00 aluminium ingot prices have increased by RMB 50 per tonne and RMB 40 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,660 per tonne and RMB 19,770 per tonne.

Other prices

According to the Shanghai Metals Market, the domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has ascended by RMB 60 per tonne to halt at RMB 20,986 per tonne.  On the same day, the prices of both high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) have grown by RMB 100 per tonne to peg at RMB 26,900 per tonne and RMB 27,900 per tonne.

Alumina prices

On Wednesday, January 1, the average alumina prices have shown fall in all the provinces, settling at RMB 5,698 per tonne after witnessing a drop of RMB 14 per tonne. As per the data, the prices in regions like Lianyungang and Bayuquan have declined by RMB 50 per tonne to score at RMB 5,950 per tonne. In Shandong, Henan, and Shanxi, the alumina prices have lost RMB 20 per tonne to RMB 5,715 per tonne and RMB 5,650 per tonne. In Shanxi, the price has descended by RMB 15 per tonne to dock at RMB 5,695 per tonne.

The aluminium alloy (A356) price has gained RMB 100 per tonne to stand at RMB 20,250 per tonne, with the average prices expected to stand between RMB 20,100 per tonne and RMB 20,400 per tonne. For aluminium alloys (ADC12) and (A380), the prices have shown no change to peg at RMB 20,800 per tonne and RMB 21,800 per tonne.
