According to the Shanghai Metals Market survey, A00 aluminium ingot price has grown after two consecutive days of downfall to stand week-on-week higher than RMB 20,210 per tonne. The price today, July 9, has increased by RMB 70 per tonne, reaching RMB 20,300 per tonne, up by 0.45 per cent from a week ago. The average prices are estimated to range between RMB 20,280 per tonne and RMB 20,320 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a discount price of RMB 70-30 per tonne.

Among the major Chinese consumption area, today the price in Tianjin has seen the highest growth of RMB 90 per tonne to RMB 20,340 per tonne, followed by an increase of RMB 80 per tonne in Foshan, Wuxi, and Chongqing to stand at RMB 20,130 per tonne, RMB 20,300 per tonne, and RMB 20,250 per tonne, respectively. In Shenyang and Linyi, primary aluminium ingot price has climbed up by RMB 70 per tonne to RMB 20,250 per toonne and RMB 20,300 per tonne, while the price in Gongyi has escalated by RMB 60 per tonne to RMB 20,160 per tonne.
China’s domestic low-carbon aluminium price has also increased, following two days of decline. From RMB 20,992 per tonne on July 8, the price rose to RMB 21,073 per tonne, registering a boost of 0.39 per cent. China’s high-purity aluminium (99.99%) price jumped up by RMB 100 per tonne to RMB 27,700 per tonne, exceeding the previous week’s price by RMB 100 per tonne.
Primary aluminium input costs
Among primary aluminium raw materials, the price of aluminium powder has inched up by RMB 0.10 per kg to stand at RMB 23.1 per kg as of July 9. The average prices are expected to hover around RMB 23-23.2 per kg.
On the other hand, China’s domestic bauxite and alumina prices have continued to remain restrained at RMB 640 per tonne and RMB 3,903 per tonne, respectively.
Aluminium alloy prices:
Aluminium alloy (A356) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price have gained RMB 50 per tonne on July 9 to peg at RMB 20,750 per tonne and RMB 21,100 per tonne, with average prices to range between RMB 20,600-20,900 per tonne and RMB 21,000-21,200 per tonne, respectively.
However, aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) prices have remained restrained at RMB 20,000 per tonne and RMB 21,000 per tonne.
