China’s A00 aluminium ingot price skyrockets by RMB190/t; Alumina price in Lianyungang sheds RMB30/t

A00 aluminium ingot price has levitated by RMB 190 per tonne, officially closing at RMB 18,590 per tonne, as the Shanghai Metals Market recorded on March 28, Tuesday. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 18,570 per tonne and RMB 18,610 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at discount prices of RMB 70 per tonne and RMB 30 per tonne.

The eight provinces in China all have witnessed escalating prices today, with the aluminium price rising the highest in Foshan by RMB 200 per tonne to rest at RMB 18,710 per tonne, followed by a spike of RMB 190 per tonne in Wuxi, Chongqing and Linyi. In Wuxi, the price has stopped at RMB 18,585 per tonne; in Chongqing, it has been pegged at RMB 18,730 per tonne; and in Linyi, the price has halted at RMB 18,640 per tonne. In Hangzhou, the aluminium price has jumped by RMB 180 per tonne to officially close at RMB 18,610 per tonne. In the Chinese provinces, Gongyi and Tianjin, the aluminium prices have augmented by RMB 170 per tonne to stop at RMB 18,490 per tonne and RMB 18,570 per tonne. Only in Shenyang, the aluminium price has seen a slight upward stroke of RMB 10 per tonne, resting at RMB 18,380 per tonne.

The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has soared by RMB 200 per tonne to halt at RMB 19,292 per tonne.

The high-purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) price have surged by RMB 200 per tonne, closing at RMB 26,400 per tonne and RMB 27,400 per tonne.

The prices of alumina in Lianyungang and Bayuquan have both decreased by RMB 30 per tonne, officially closing at RMB 2,970 per tonne and RMB 3,070 per tonne. 

The aluminium alloy (A356) price has gained by RMB 200 per tonne to peg at RMB 19,500 per tonne, with the average prices standing between RMB 19,300 per tonne and RMB 19,700 per tonne. On the other hand, both aluminium alloys (ADC12) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price have increased by RMB 100 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,400 per tonne and RMB 20,400 per tonne.

The price of aluminium powder in China has grown by RMB 0.20 per kg to close at RMB 20.40 per kg, with average prices hovering between RMB 20.30 per kg and RMB 20.50 per kg.
