Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) announced the joining of Grupo ReciclaBR Latasa Metais as the new Industrial User member. Grupo ReciclaBR, the largest non-ferrous metals recycling group in Brazil, was formed in 2013 through the merger of several companies.
{alcircleadd}With a nationwide network of partners, the group promotes collecting and recycling aluminium and other non-ferrous metals, playing a crucial role in environmental preservation and social development.
Operating across the entire non-ferrous metals chain, the group includes Latasa Reciclagem, Brazil's largest aluminium recycling company and a pioneer in implementing an integrated system for collecting and casting aluminium cans since 1991. Another key entity, Latasa Garimpeiro Urbano, manages the collection of non-ferrous metals through centres in 16 states across the country.
As of 2023, Grupo ReciclaBR’s headquarters are located in São Paulo (SP), with 24 collection centres, 3 industrial plants, and a materials warehouse. On its ESG journey, Latasa Reciclagem, through the Latasa Metais industrial plant, is pursuing ASI certification to align its practices with the demands of customers and other stakeholders.
