Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) chairman, Shaikh Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al Khalifa, has reportedly invited German companies to open their manufacturing units and businesses at a 472,000 square metre Aluminium Downstream Park in Bahrain.
{alcircleadd}The business park in the vicinity of Alba campus, led by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, aims to provide proper infrastructure for the establishment of downstream sector to attract local and foreign investments.
While urging this at the 25th Arab-German Business Forum on June 21-23, Alba Chairman highlighted the close ties between Bahrain and Germany, of which Alba is the standing example. He said, Five decades and counting, Bahrain has forged close ties with Germany in the fields in trade and investment, and Alba is a great tangible example of this.”
Shaikh Daij also said, “We look forward to welcoming German companies to set-up manufacturing units and businesses at the recently announced Aluminium Downstream Park, which represents a dynamic part of the Economic Recovery Plan put in motion in October 2021 by the Government of Bahrain and led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain.”
He added, “Alba will play a key role in the development of the planned Aluminium Downstream Park and look forward to being the supplier of choice for all aluminium manufacturing and recycling projects.”
At the forum, known for promoting Arab-German business relations, Alba’s CEO Ali Al Baqali, discussed on ‘Sustainability and Waste Management: Major Challenges and Excellent Opportunities’, giving insights into ESG Roadmap in line with the commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2060. He also spoke about Spent Pot Lining Treatment Plant to address waste management.
