Qatalum has joined Aluminium Stewardship Initiative as the Production and Transformation member, bringing the total count of ASI members to 193.

They run an aluminium smelter in Mesaieed, Qatar, located 40 km south of Doha. Their facilities include a casthouse, carbon plant, port, a reduction plant, storage facilities and also a captive power plant. The workforce of Qatalum includes people from over 40 nationalities. The company contributes to the industrial diversification of the State of Qatar as well as is paving the way for a sustainably developed future.
Qatalum is known to produce more than 600,000 tons of top quality primary aluminium products per year. Their value-extrusion ingots and foundry alloys is known to meet the quality standards of the global customer base. The aluminium from Qatalum is used in various industries like construction, consumer good manufacturing, automotive, as well as engineering.
The company is owned by Hydro Aluminium of Norway and Qatar Aluminium Manufacturing Company (QAMCO) of Qatar.
