Connecticut Metal, North America’s leading recycler of aluminium foil and laminate scraps, reportedly recycled more than 50,000 tonnes of aluminium-containing materials at its Ansonia facility. Foil, paper, and polymer laminates used in the food, drug, and cosmetics sectors were recovered at this facility, which opened in 2010.
{alcircleadd}“Our company began 38 years ago by recycling rigid containers. As flexible packaging made rapid inroads into these markets, we decided to also recycle flexible materials,” said Mary Vulcano, Vice President of Connecticut Metal.
Connecticut Metal initially specialised in laminates made of aluminium foil. The business created a unique procedure to remove metal from the paper and plastic substrates. Soon, the company became one of the significant consumers of foil lidding, laminate pouch materials, and printed and uncoated aluminium foil trash.
Connecticut Metal has grown to produce tapes, plastic laminates, and printed and unprinted paper over the last ten years. According to the company, a sizable portion of its recyclable feedstock still consists of metal containers from the beverage and aerosol can sectors.
“By recycling your aluminum foil laminate scrap we can help you attain a zero waste footprint for your manufacturing facility,” said Connecticut Metal.
