According to a report on February 28, Capral Aluminium Chairman Rex Wood-Ward will retire from the board at the conclusion of the company's Annual General Meeting on May 8, 2024.
{alcircleadd}The news came after Mr Wood-Ward announced his retirement, telling Australia's leading publication, Trailer Magazine, that he enjoyed his time immensely at Capral.
"I've really enjoyed working and watching management take control of the business, while doing intelligent, game-changing things for it. They've really turned the business around, and we've built a solid base going forward," said Mr Rex.
He also said that Capral is in a powerful position and will continue to grow. He added, "The Board and management are totally aligned with a very clear vision of where we're going."
Mr Wood-Ward joined Capral in 2008 as a non-executive Director, with 50 years of experience in various industries across South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia. In 2010, he became Chairman and shaped the company into what it is today.
Mr Rex also shared with Trailer that Capral is currently looking for his replacement as Chair of Capral. He said, "We will be making an announcement once we've got that finalised, but I have no doubt that it won't be an issue. I don't think there will be any hiccups, and I think it will be a very smooth transition. I'll be helping as much as I am needed in making that happen."
