Anthony Karlovic, the founder of First Avenue Homes, has used Capral Aluminium doors and windows to complete their home. Located in Melbourne's Brighton East area, the house has won many accolades, including the HIA Custom Home of the Year ($750,000- $1 million) and the HIA Victorian Kitchen of the Year.
{alcircleadd}First Avenue Homes meticulously planned and built every element of the house to give the Karlovics the living and entertainment experience they desired. The custom five-bedroom, three-bathroom home combines elegance and usability throughout its roomy, well-lit areas.
According to Karlovic, selecting the right window and door systems were crucial for this house because it needed premium, specially-made systems with cutting-edge utility that could support wide swaths of glass.
"Capral designs and manufactures our favourite window and door systems in Australia. The profile of the joinery ties together the inside and outside of our homes and suits our designs. In this home, we have immensely high ceilings of nearly four metres on the ground floor, and Capral is one of the only companies in Australia that can make bi-fold doors able to complement this height," said Karlovic.
The home's window and door components were created and fitted by an architectural window and door manufacturer Audsley Windows. According to project manager Ben Wersching, Capral door and window sets are the only ones that Audsley employs.
Additionally, Audsley collaborates with technological advisers from Capral to get around any design restrictions and double-check the security of window sizes and wind loads. Wersching claims that Audsley collaborates closely with architects and constructors to optimise their window and door systems' design, usefulness, and cost-effectiveness.
Audsley created and fitted a full-height insulated glazed pivot door because the Centre Road home plan needed plenty of light to move from the entrance. The door is controlled by a keypad allowing remote access, locking, a hold feature, and automated shutting.
