The downstream aluminium sector witnessed significant developments this week. According to Pragun Khaitan, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Jindal Aluminium Ltd (JAL), the company plans to spend INR 100-150 crore to increase the production capacity of its Bhiwadi plant by 60,000 tonnes annually. Japanese firm Ryobi will invest $35.2 million to build a new facility in Shizuoka Prefecture. They plan to introduce a moulding machine to produce aluminium automobile components for domestic automakers by March 2025. Gränges released its Q2 and H1 2023 results, showing resilience despite decreased demand for aluminium. Gränges Q2 sales volume decreased by 1.7%, with total sales dropping by 12.6%.
