Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals (GACL) has commissioned its new poly aluminium chloride (PAC) plant with a capacity of 32,000 tonne per annum. This is second such plant of the company after the commissioning of it first plant at Dahej complex in 2007, with a capacity of 40,000 TPA, as told by GACL’s Managing Director Prem Kumar Gera.
{alcircleadd}Gera added that there is heavy demand for PAC in India, which is primarily used in municipal and industrial water treatments, waste water treatments, separation of slurry in industrial processes, sizing in paper and pulp industry, decontamination of dyes in textile industry and sewage water treatments.
Mr. P K Gera flagged off the first shipment from the new Poly Aluminium Chloride Plant from its Coelho Complex, Vadodara. The Company has taken initiatives to expand its current product lines and is adding extra capacities through new plants and this new facility is a part of this expansion project.

GACL has emerged as one of the largest merchant manufacturers of chloro-alkali products including Caustic Soda in India with the support from cutting edge technology and groundbreaking R&D work. It is offering more than 33 products. The Organization follows stringent quality protocols in line with global quality norms.
The company has an expansion plan to reach Rs.5000 Cr turnover by 2022. Mr Gera said the company has been increasing its current production capacity as well as adding new products and reaching out to new avenues to make its mark in the global market. The Company has also formed a Joint Venture with NALCO for putting up a new 800 TPD Caustic Soda Plant integrated with a 130 MW Coal based power plant at Dahej.
