Geely Auto Group, headquartered in Hangzhou, China, has newly launched a pure EV brand Geometry, intending to boost production of new energy vehicles. The brand’s first model, imaginatively nameplated as Geometry A, is a high end model offered with standard and long ranges for a total of six configurations.
{alcircleadd}According to Zhejiang Geely Holding Group president and Geely Auto Group president and CEO An Conghui, the brand Geometry and its first model are launched with a strategic goal, and that is becoming one of the world top 10 automotive groups.
He said, "Geely is a strong force and active participant in the field of new energy. We are guided by technological innovation and are determined to become a global leader in new energy. Geometry is our answer to the future of the industry, a representation of our ideals, and a firm step into a beautiful new world.”
In this new brand, vehicles will be manufactured using technology that will create a sustainable environment and safe mobility so that there is a harmonious relationship between humanity and nature.
By 2025, the brand targets to launch 10 pure electric models in different segments including sedans, SUVs, crossovers, and MPVs.
The first model made from aluminium alloy and composite materials has CATL ternary lithium batteries having a capacity of 51.9 kWh and 61.9 kWh. With fast charging system, it can charge from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in 30 minutes. It also has so-called Super E Energy Station which can supply power to laptops, ovens, lamps, and other equipment with an external power plug.
The longer-range version of the model has an ability to travel up to 500 kilometers (310.69 miles) on a single charge, Geely said while adding that the company has already received more than 26,000 orders globally.
Featuring many other smart features like front and rear moving object detection, intelligent driver seat pre-tensioning seat belt and other active and passive safety features, Geometry A is the first pure electric vehicle in China to achieve L2+ intelligent drive capabilities generally only found on luxury class models, Geely claims.
