Island Custom Music, a unique music business located in Shetland, has been awarded a £3,000 grant with the assistance of Business Gateway. Established last year by Inga Scott and Eric Semple, the business produces mesmerising musical pieces displayed in aluminium frames, composed and performed by Scott.
The sheet music is presented in aluminium frames, and QR codes link to online recordings. Seeking assistance with their plans, Scott and Semple turned to Business Gateway, which provided guidance on social media, website creation, and funding applications.
Thanks to the monetary support from Shetland Islands Council that awarded them a £3,000 start-up grant for branding, packaging, design, and social media.
Inga Scott seemed quite optimistic about this inspirational move and he announced: “We wouldn’t have a business without Business Gateway.”
“Business Gateway has been the perfect source of mentorship and the first point of guidance for starting up your own business,” Scott asserted.
“The support we have received is invaluable and helped turn our musical dream into a robust and successful business that is now being enjoyed by so many all over the world,” he concluded.
Scott expressed gratitude towards Business Gateway, stating that their business would not be materialised without their guidance.
Island Custom Music will also have a stall at the Tall Ships Races in Lerwick later this month, and their musical creations are now enjoyed globally.
