The Atom and Spectrum series laser projectors designed by Kvant bagged the 2023 iF Design Award in the Industry/Tools product design category. The panel of 132 independent experts globally praised the product's creative design and a foamed aluminium composition. Foamed aluminium is a semi-product of aluminium that swells its internal structure when heated to a foaming temperature.
Aside from the benefits of less weight, a smaller footprint, and enhanced stiffness, it gave us nearly infinite sculpting, resulting in this amazing design. The iF award represents excellent design and is a quality seal for professional and trade users. Kvant collaborated on this winning idea with the Slovak Academy of Sciences and Werkemotion, a Bratislava-based transport and industrial design company.
At the same time, it is a good insulator, making the projector housing resistant to outside temperatures. Furthermore, the housing is simple and provides rapid access to the optical chamber and the bottom electrical area. Consequently, the new chassis is 30 per cent lighter, much smaller, and far sturdier than its predecessors and most traditional hard-shell laser projectors. The Atom and Spectrum shells are completed with Raptor Liner top coating – a durable, scratch-resistant paint that ensures long-lasting protection.
The improved internal construction of laser modules, the optical compartment itself, and the fact that everything is constructed around the floating heat sink with better shock absorption provide outstanding resistance to beam misalignment induced by hard handling and vibrations. Atom and Spectrum are full-colour laser projectors with power output ranging from 34 to 58 Watts, ideal for large-scale outdoor presentations.
