LME aluminium price dips by US$19.5/t to US$2,105.50/t; SHFE price nosedives to US$2,498/t

LME aluminium opened at US$2,136 per tonne on Tuesday and closed at US$2,102 per tonne, down US$32 per tonne or 1.5 per cent.

On Tuesday, September 27, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price slipped by US$19.5 per tonne or 0.91 per cent to settle at US$2,105.50 per tonne and US$2,106 per tonne.

3-month bid price and 3-month offer price went down by US$17 per tonne or 0.79 per cent and US$15.5 per tonne or 0.72 per cent to record at US$2,128 per tonne and US$2,130 per tonne.

December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price shrunk by US$13 per tonne or 0.57 per cent to rest at US$2,230 per tonne or 2,235 per tonne.

LME aluminium opening stock came in at 337425 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants halted at 273250 tonnes and 64175 tonnes.

On the same day, LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price decreased by US$4.39 per tonne or 0.20 per cent to peg at US$2,139.30 per tonne.

SHFE aluminium price 

On Wednesday, September 28, the benchmark aluminium price for SHFE nosedived by US$54 per tonne or 2.11 per cent to settle at US$2,498 per tonne.

The most-traded SHFE 2210 aluminium closed down 0.71 per cent or RMB 130 per tonne to RMB 18,265 per tonne, with open interest down 23,876 lots to 87,985 lots.

The most-traded SHFE 2211 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,100 per tonne overnight and rose to RMB 18,260 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,085 per tonne, down RMB 80 per tonne or 0.44 per cent.
