LME aluminium opened at US$2,500 per tonne on Thursday, and fluctuated around its opening price before closing at US$2,500 per tonne.
{alcircleadd}On December 8, Thursday LME aluminium cash bid price escalated by US$17.50 per tonne or 0.71 per cent, closing at US$2,467.50 per tonne and the LME aluminium official settlement price surged by US$18 per tonne or 0.73 per cent, settling at US$2,468.50 per tonne.
The 3-month bid price saw a rise of US$19.50 per tonne or 0.79 per cent, settling at US$2,496 per tonne, while the 3-month offer price had a price hike of US$21 per tonne or 0.85 per cent, resting at US$2,498 per tonne.
December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price both gained US$22 per tonne or 0.86 per cent, stopping at US$2,560 per tonne and US$2,565 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock lost a hefty 6,150 tonnes or 1.27 per cent to settle at 477,425 tonnes from 483,575 tonnes recorded on the previous day.
Live warrants totalled 224,000 tonnes, showing no change at all. Cancelled warrants read 253,425 tonnes, going down by 6,150 tonnes or 2.37 per cent.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price came in at US$2,500 per tonne after an addition of US$8.95 per tonne or 0.36 per cent.
SHFE aluminium price
Today, on December 7, the SHFE benchmark aluminium price has slumped by US$7 per tonne or 0.25 per cent, closing at US$2,764 per tonne.
The most-traded SHFE 2211 aluminium contract opened at RMB 19,190 per tonne overnight and rose to RMB 19,330 per tonne before closing at RMB 19,210 per tonne, up RMB 20 per tonne or 0.1 per cent.
The most-traded SHFE 2301 aluminium closed down 0.1 per cent or RMB 20 per tonne at RMB 19,235 per tonne, with open interest down 3,229 lots to 207,918 lots.
