Chosen from over 190 exhibitors, the Daisy Top Refill System was named "Best Product" for its pioneering contribution to sustainable packaging in the beauty and personal care sector, receiving unprecedented votes from attendees. This approach allows brands to move away from single-use packaging toward a sustainable alternative that taps into existing recycling infrastructures, promoting packaging circularity on a global scale.

"Sustainability must be easy and fun to engage people and drive real impact. With great user experience comes great engagement, which results in higher conversions and real impact. That's why focusing on UX was key to us during development," said Victor Ljungberg, CEO of Meadow.

Meadow's user-focused innovation

Meadow's user-focused innovation is crafted to seamlessly fit into consumers' daily lives, offering both convenience and a premium experience. Companies can deliver an engaging product that reduces environmental impact by pairing this refill technology with branded, reusable dispensers.

The system's appeal transcends sustainability by enhancing brand identity and customer loyalty. Research indicates that Meadow’s refill solution increases consumer engagement and repurchases intent, making it an essential tool for brands aiming to attract new customers and nurture long-term relationships.

Focused on minimising material usage, the Daisy Top Refill System eliminates the need for traditional pull tabs, further reducing the can's weight while preserving the infinite recyclability of aluminium. With 75 per cent of all aluminium ever produced still in use today, this solution highlights Meadow's dedication to sustainability and innovation.

"We believe our refill system not only promotes circularity but also allows brands to differentiate themselves globally. Our solution provides packaging circularity today while offering brands a unique opportunity to strengthen their identity. At Meadow, we are continually addressing the challenges of circular packaging. Our ongoing research and fast-paced innovation ensure we remain at the forefront of packaging solutions designed for sustainability," added Ljungberg.

Meadow's commitment towards sustainability targets

The Daisy Top Refill System is designed for scalability, allowing brands to incorporate it into their existing supply chains easily. Meadow is committed to helping global CPG companies meet their 2030 sustainability targets by offering practical, innovative solutions that seamlessly integrate with established infrastructures.

Meadow's win comes during a remarkable year for sustainable packaging innovations, with London Packaging Week highlighting the most cutting-edge advancements. Organised by Easyfairs UK, the Innovation Gallery is a popular feature of the two-day event, showcasing ten transformative packaging projects selected from hundreds of entries.

The Daisy Top Refill System emerged as the winner from this curated selection, which included solutions such as RE-ZIP Packaging's reusable boxes, Fenner Paper Company's PaperWise, Viscose Closures' Plastic-Free Shrink Sleeves, and Ranpak's RecyCold Climaliner. These innovations reflect the industry's dedication to reducing environmental impact through creativity and technology.

With the success of London Packaging Week now concluded, attention turns to the UK's premier packaging event, Packaging Innovations, scheduled for February at Birmingham's NEC. Over 460 exhibitors will showcase their latest designs and sustainability innovations, vying for a place in the prestigious final 10 of the next Innovation Gallery. As the industry continues to push the boundaries of creativity and environmental responsibility, all eyes will be on Birmingham to see which solutions will set the benchmark for 2025.
