National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has continued to significantly increase its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices in line with the LME aluminium price hike. With effect from Wednesday, January 18, NALCO has escalated its aluminium ingot price by INR 10,000 per tonne to range between INR 239,350-242,850 per tonne.
NALCO’s aluminium wire rod price has also witnessed an increase of INR 10,000 per tonne or 4.2 per cent to hover around INR 243,850-248,200 per tonne as of January 18. Aluminium billets price has been raised by 4.2 per cent as well with effect from January 18 to peg at INR 243,800-246,450 per tonne versus INR 233,800-236,450 per tonne on January 12.
NALCO links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which surged by US$156 per tonne or 6.38 per cent from US$2,447 per tonne on January 12 to US$2,603 per tonne on January 16.
NALCO’s aluminium products and alumina account for nearly two-thirds of the company’s gross topline, while the sales of chemicals contribute to the rest. NALCO manufactures wire rods, billets, coils, and chequered sheets.
