Driven by the demand for sustainable aluminium products in the construction sector, Ozroll, an Australian manufacturer and distributor of premium home improvement products, has started using LocAl® Green lower carbon aluminium supplied by Capral for its Elipso louvres and plantation shutters.
{alcircleadd}The objective is to practise environmental stewardship and set up a benchmark for sustainable manufacturing, as explained by Peter Bulka, Capral's Industrial Manager for Southeast Queensland.
Ozroll is an eco-conscious company focused on minimising carbon emissions and fostering a greener planet. So, the company's switch to Capral's LocAl® Green lower carbon aluminium aligns well with their beliefs and disposition.
Jack McDonald, General Manager of Ozroll Queensland, said: "Energy efficiency and sustainability are a big part of what we do. The products we offer to the market, including our louvres and plantation shutters, can deliver real efficiency benefits within the built environment."
Jack further explained that growing demand from clients for more sustainable solutions drove Ozroll to move to LocAl® Green lower carbon aluminium.
"When we heard about LocAl and understood it was an option for our product, we moved quickly to introduce it to our range. The product delivers the same structural and performance characteristics with the added benefit of lower CO2 emissions," added Jack.
The LocAl® Green lower carbon aluminium emits 50 per cent less carbon during the production process than other extruded aluminium products available in the market, enabling Ozroll to reduce its carbon footprint by 1200t CO2e annually.
Peter Bulka added, "At eight kilograms of carbon emissions per kilogram of aluminium, Capral's LocAl Green offer has 50% lower carbon emissions than the current global average for primary aluminium. It gives Australian manufacturers like Ozroll an important opportunity to make more responsible procurement decisions when they source extruded aluminium. Capral is so proud to be able to support Ozroll in the supply of lower carbon aluminium, we really congratulate Jack and his team on this industry-leading decision."
