Pondy Oxides & Chemicals, one of India's top secondary lead smelters, is planning to build an aluminium recycling/melting facility at its current location in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. The project is a part of the company's expansion strategy for 2022, with a projected total expenditure of INR 5 crore in plant, machinery and pollution control equipment.
{alcircleadd}The firm has identified a chance to recycle aluminium to expand its range of non-ferrous metals beyond Lead and Copper. In this regard, the company has secured Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board's Consent for the Establishment to produce 14,750 tonnes per year of aluminium and aluminium alloys (ingots, pellets, molten).
Additionally, this would assist the company in satisfying the demand(s) and strengthening its market position. The business continues to highlight the value of recycling and to promote and concentrate on environmental sustainability. The company is also taking all the necessary cutting-edge equipment into place, intending to have everything installed and ready for production by December 2022.
