The Google Pixel Watch, the Pixel line's first wearable device, launched last year had gained a positive response from the audience with praise for its clean appearance and how effectively Wear OS works on the gadget. Rumours are rife that the second edition of the Pixel Watch, dubbed Google Pixel Watch 2, will feature aluminium rather than stainless steel for the case material.
{alcircleadd}The use of an aluminium case replacing the stainless steel will result in a weight decrease from the original's 36g. The current Pixel Watch weighs 36 grammes without a strap, whereas the Fitbit Sense 2 weighs just 26g. As per the rumours, the range distinguishes itself among Wear OS-based wearables by providing a simplified, Google-centric user experience and a unique Fitbit integration.
Google also unveiled a redesigned Pixel Watch strap with circular perforations to increase exercise breathability. It is available in Coral and will be available this autumn. Aside from that, a makeover of the Fitbit app is planned, with "Coach"-branded exercises being one feature. These will be comparable to what Fitbit Premium provides, and the new app will continue to employ images to push users to reach their objectives.
However, this is not the first time that companies have chosen aluminium as their material. Top brands like Bulgari, Apple, Versa 4 from Fitbit, Orient's Mako Line, Lora2 smartwatch, etc, have already incorporated aluminium in some way or other. Aluminium's low density, lightweight, corrosion resistance, and high thermal conductivity are some of its primary features, but what makes the silvery-white metal popular is its 100% recyclability, which reduces carbon emissions and promotes a circular economy.
