Saudi Arabia’s exports of total aluminium (crude metal and alloys and semi-finished products) to the US stood at 55,200 tonnes in the first nine months of 2019, an increase of 15.6% from 47,750 tonnes in the first nine months of 2018, according to the latest Mineral Industry Survey report from US Geological Survey.
In September, aluminium exports stood 41.24% higher compared with the same period of 2018. Exports to the US rose from 4,333 tonnes to 6,120 tonnes in September 2019. On a month-on-month comparison, exports fell by 27.66% from August’s export volume of 8,460 tonnes.
{alcircleadd}Exports of aluminium semi-finished products (plates, sheets, bars, etc.) from Saudi Arabia to the US totalled 43,100 tonnes in January-September 2019, 463.4% higher than the corresponding period of 2018. Exports in September registered a big jump year-on-year. Semi-finished exports came in at 6,040 tonnes, from 403 tonnes. On a month-on-month comparison, exports decreased by 28.52% from 8,450 tonnes.
Saudi Arabia exported 12,100 tonnes of crude metals and alloys to the US in January-September 2019, from 40,100 tonnes exported in January-September 2018. Exports in September stood at 80 tonnes as compared to 3,930 tonnes in September 2018.
