Servotech to lead a 2 MW on-grid solar power project in UP, supporting India’s green energy transition

Servotech Power Systems Limited (SPSL) has secured a contract for a 2-megawatt (MW) on-grid solar project from the Uttar Pradesh Government. According to the company's statement, the project has been awarded by the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).

Under the terms of the agreement, Servotech will oversee the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the 2 MW on-grid solar power systems. The company will also provide warranty maintenance for these solar photovoltaic (PV) installations at 67 key locations throughout the state for the next five years.

Use of aluminium in the solar power sector

The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems in Germany reports that China accounts for 86 per cent of the world's annual solar panel production, while Europe and North America each contribute around 2 per cent. Notably, six of the top seven global solar panel manufacturers are based in China.
