Shri Bijay Kumar Das has been elevated to the Director (Production) at the Navratna CPSE National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), with effect from December 1, 2020. Shri Das was serving NALCO as Executive Director (Projects) at Corporate Office, Bhubaneswar.
The association of Mr Das with NALCO dates back to 1984 as a Graduate Engineer Trainee. Shri Bijay Kumar Das completed his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Rourkela (Formerly REC) and joined NALCO in its Captive Power Plant in Angul since the inception of the project. He held many key positions in the Plant before taking over the challenging assignment of Business Development of the Company.
Shri Das then subsequently became the General Manager (Corporate Planning & Strategic Management) with the responsibility to plan and strategize the growth path of the company before being promoted to Executive Director (Projects).
During his association with NALCO for more than three decades, Das has contributed significantly to the execution of various projects including diversification & opening of new vista in Renewable Energy Projects.

NALCO, with effect from December 1, has increased the prices of its aluminium ingots and aluminium products by INR 5,600 per tonne. While NALCO’s aluminium ingot price has come in at INR 173,850-177,350 per tonne, the prices of its aluminium wire rod and aluminium billets have pegged at INR 177,350-181,700 per tonne and INR 177,300-178,800 per tonne, respectively.
