Automotive components manufacturer Sundaram-Clayton Ltd (SCL) has opened a new machined castings foundry at Oragadam, near Chennai, in Tamil Nadu. The new facility, which was inaugurated by Young Key Koo, Managing Director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India Ltd, has been established with an investment of over INR150 crore
With production capacity of 8,000 tonnes, the new machined castings foundry will meet the growing demand for company’s products from the automotive industry and will primarily serve Hyundai Motor.

SCL, a member of the TVS group, manufactures machined aluminium die-castings for the passenger car, commercial vehicle and two-wheeler industries in India and globally. The company produces over 50,000 tonnes of machined aluminium casting products annually. SCL’s customers include Hyundai Motor Company India Ltd., Cummins, Volvo, Daimler, PACCAR, BMW, Honda, Ford etc.
