The use of aluminium composite panels (ACPs) for building facades and interiors is catching up globally. Despite the recent spate of fire incidents in different parts of the world which found aluminium composite panels at the centre of all criticism, builders and consumers alike are finding it unconvincing to shift from this versatile building material to any immediate alternative. In India, one of the most important emerging markets in the Asia Pacific region after China, aluminium composite panels have made great inroads in the last ten years. The ACP business here currently has an annual volume worth of more than INR1,800 crore, industry sources say. Thanks to the central government initiatives like Make in India and Smart City programmes, the market is expected to grow by around 28-30 per cent rate year-on-year.
