As per USGS data, the United States imported 545,000 tonnes of aluminium crude metals and alloys from Canada in 1Q2022, which recorded a Y-o-Y downfall of 22,000 tonnes or 3.88 per cent from 567,000 tonnes in 1Q2021. In 4Q2022, the amount of aluminium crude metals and alloys imported from Canada settled at 664,000 tonnes, which on a Q-o-Q calculation reflected a plunge of 119,000 tonnes or 17.92 per cent in 1Q2022.
{alcircleadd}In March 2022, the amount of aluminium crude metals and alloys imported from Canada by the US settled at 183,000 tonnes, up by 14,000 tonnes or 8.28 per cent M-o-M, from 169,000 tonnes in February. On the other hand, a plunge of 25,000 tonnes or 12.88 per cent was recorded in February from 194,000 tonnes in January. On a Y-o-Y calculation, a huge drop of 33,000 tonnes or 15.27 per cent was recorded from 216,000 tonnes in March 2021.
The United States imported a total of 341,000 tonnes of aluminium crude metals and alloys in March 2022, which surged by 79,000 tonnes or 30.15 per cent from 262,000 tonnes in February. For the same year, a dropdown of 81,000 tonnes was recorded in February, from 343,000 tonnes in January.
