The US Department of Commerce (DOC) recently released its preliminary findings from the anti-dumping investigation into Vietnamese aluminium extrusions and products. This information comes from the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam, under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The investigation, initiated on October 24, 2023, in response to a request by the US United Steel, Paper & Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial & Service Workers International Union, covers the period from April 1 to September 30, 2023.
The DOC has imposed a preliminary anti-subsidy tax rate of 2.85 per cent on a mandatory defendant enterprise and 28 other firms. In comparison, 41.84 per cent has been levied on the remaining companies. According to the authority, an on-site examination of the mandatory defendant is expected to be conducted, with the conclusion set to be released on September 19.
The Vietnam Association of Aluminium is strongly advised to keep manufacturers and exporters updated about the situation. It is crucial for enterprises to closely monitor the case's developments, gain a comprehensive understanding of US policies and anti-dumping procedures, and explore new markets. Furthermore, companies are urged to collaborate with the DOC during the investigation and provide the authority with the latest information for prompt support.
