China’s alumina price heightens by RMB101/t; A00 aluminium ingot price loses RMB140/t

On Wednesday, October 16, the average alumina spot price has skyrocketed by RMB 101 per tonne to settle at RMB 4,499 per tonne. As per the data, the alumina prices in Shandong, Guangxi and Shanxi have gained RMB 100 per tonne to clock at RMB 4,475 per tonne, RMB 4,435 per tonne and RMB 4,575 per tonne. In Henan and Guizhou, the alumina prices have surged by RMB 95 per tonne and RMB 65 per tonne to halt at RMB 4,500 per tonne and RMB 4,365 per tonne.

The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has lost RMB 164 per tonne to settle at RMB 21,542 per tonne. On the same day, the high purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high purity aluminium (99.996%) price have declined by RMB 100 per tonne to dock at RMB 27,700 per tonne and RMB 28,700 per tonne. The Australian alumina FOB price has heightened by US$51 per tonne to settle at US$693 per tonne.

According to the Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) analysis, the A00 aluminium ingot price has slumped by RMB 140 per tonne to reach RMB 20,670 per tonne, with the spot contract price expected to be traded at a discount price of RMB 20 to RMB 20 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 20,650 per tonne and RMB 20,690 per tonne.

The prices have shown a fall in most provinces, except in Linyi, where it has gained RMB 100 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,840 per tonne. The aluminium ingot prices in Shenyang and Foshan have lost RMB 160 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,570 per tonne and RMB 20,470 per tonne. On the same day, the prices in Tianjin, Hangzhou and Gongyi slipped by RMB 140 per tonne to peg at RMB 20,690 per tonne, RMB 20,670 per tonne and RMB 20,640 per tonne.  As per the data, the prices in Wuxi and Chongqing have decreased by RMB 130 per tonne to come in at RMB 20,670 per tonne and RMB 20,590 per tonne.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) has dropped by RMB 150 per tonne to halt at RMB 21,100 per tonne, with the average prices expected to range between RMB 20,900 per tonne and RMB 21,300 per tonne. For (ADC12) and (A380) the prices have shown no change to reside at RMB 20,900 per tonne and RMB 21,900 per tonne.
