The alumina price in China has skipped upward by RMB 2 per tonne, resting at RMB 2,815 per tonne, while the alumina price in Guangxi has jumped up by RMB 10 per tonne to officially close at RMB 2,785 per tonne. The Australian Alumina FOB Price has slumped by RMB 21.66 per tonne, settling down at RMB 2,382.86 per tonne.
{alcircleadd}The aluminium price index, according to the Shanghai Metal Market, has returned to the starting position that it had at the beginning of June. Today, June 29, the SMM aluminium price has clocked at RMB 18,550 per tonne, down RMB 20 per tonne, quite close to what it was on June 2 at RMB 18,570 per tonne. The highest recorded price in June until now has been on June 20, when the SMM aluminium spot price stood at RMB 18,850 per tonne. The average aluminium price trends are between RMB 18,530 per tonne and RMB 18,570 per tonne.
The low-carbon aluminium price has shot up by RMB 11 per tonne to RMB 19,338 per tonne.
The eight main provinces in China have seen fluctuating prices today, with the aluminium spot price falling in Gongyi, Wuxi and Tianjin by RMB 20 per tonne, RMB 40 per tonne and RMB 20 per tonne, respectively. The aluminium spot price in Gongyi remained stuck at RMB 18,350 per tonne; in Wuxi, it stood at RMB 18,530 per tonne and in Tianjin, the aluminium price came in at RMB 18,550 per tonne. Other than that, Foshan and Hangzhou experienced a slight rise in aluminium prices, with the former experiencing an RMB 10 per tonne increase while the latter bagging RMB 70 per tonne to stop at RMB 18,740 per tonne and RMB 18,570 per tonne, respectively.
The three other provinces had no alteration in prices, with Chongqing recording RMB 18,570 per tonne, Shenyang flashing RMB 18,500 per tonne and Linyi marking RMB 18,470 per tonne.
