Spot alumina prices in China are dropping from November 23 continuing in March. As updated by Shanghai Metals Market, average spot alumina price has dropped from RMB2764 per tonne on March 4 to RMB2749 per tonne on March 5, 2019. The fall in alumina price can be seen in the following graph.
Alumina-Central and Alumina-North have declined RMB20 per tonne and RMB15 per tonne to stand at RMB2760 per tonne and RMB 2740 per tonne as of Tuesday, 05 March 2019. Alumina-South has reduced RMB5 per tonne to stand at 2740 per tonne. Alumina-East remains unchanged at RMB2760 per tonne.
In another update from SMM, A00 aluminium ingot price has registered an increase of RMB70 per tonne or 0.51 per cent. Ingot price stands at RMB13700 per tonne as of Tuesday, 05 March 2019.The average price is expected to range between RMB13680 per tonne and RMB13720 per tonne, with spot discounts to settle at RMB60-20 per tonne.
Ingot price has also increased in all major China markets. Aluminium ingot price in East (Wuxi) and East (Hangzhou) stood at RMB13690 per tonne. Aluminium ingot price in the South and North have increased to RMB13710 per tonne and RMB13680 per tonne respectively.
