The Le Naufrageur microbrewery in Carleton-sur-Mer, Quebec has developed a vital change in its production from the end of May. The Gaspésie microbreweries focus on the aluminium can as the preferred container.
{alcircleadd}The company validates: “The next few months will witness this new trajectory for the entire crew embarked on this great project, which is the passage from glass to aluminium. Some ‘signature’ beers will remain in their amber glass bottles, but the majority of production will be offered in the new 473 ml aluminium format.”
“As of May 31, local customers in Gaspésie, Bas-St-Laurent and Côte-Nord will be able to benefit from the first landing of seven products in cans. The other regions of Quebec should receive their first deliveries towards the end of August.”
Multiple reasons have impressed the company for opting to invest an amount of more than $ 400,000 to make this change. The amount was thus used to adapt the infrastructure, expand the building, acquire the equipment and access the necessary training.
“The investment consolidates jobs in addition to allowing employees to develop additional expertise. The Le Naufrageur microbrewery is confident that the switch to the can will consolidate its position in the ever more competitive microbrewery market in Quebec”, said the company.
Le Naufrageur trusts that aluminium can is the only container that blocks all UV rays and is, therefore, the most effective material for preserving the beer from this natural enemy of brewing products. The microbrewery is therefore aware of adopting a solution that allows optimal flavour retention and always offers its customers the tastiest beer possible.
The transition will support Le Naufrageur to meet the needs of its extended consumers and its immediate community. For retailers, the elongated format is intended to save space on the shelves as well as a reduction in management in the recovery of its deposit. Furthermore, easy to transport due to its lightness and without risk of breaking, the can easily get into a bag and becomes the ideal companion for any outdoor activity.
The new label design aims to honour the company's attachment to its environment by developing a refined visual that is enhanced by its larger label area.
In 2008, the Le Naufrageur microbrewery was established at Carleton-sur-Mer. The firm from its commencement believes that it has positioned itself as a company that resolutely turned towards local development and anchoring in its territory through the production of beers using mainly Quebec and Gaspé ingredients.
