AMAG Austria Metall AG, the leading Austrian premium supplier of high-quality cast and rolled aluminium products used in a wide range of industries, has received the "Effective Sustainability Communicator Award" for the second time successively for its holistic and transparent sustainability reporting.
{alcircleadd}In 2021, this award was presented for the first time due to the increasing importance of sustainability aspects in financial market communications and was already awarded to AMAG last year.
All 39 companies of the Austrian ATX Prime Standard were analysed. AMAG was convinced with top scores in its integrative understanding of sustainability and landed in second place overall.
Christoph Gabriel, the Head of Investor Relations, accepted the award on behalf of AMAG at the annual conference of Cercle Investor Relations Austria (CIRA for short) on 12 October 2022 in Vienna.
The Cercle Investor Relations Austria (CIRA) is the association for investor relations in Austria and consists of companies, investors and persons interested in the capital market. With its activities and by way of networking with its members, the association makes a fundamental contribution to the increased functionality of the capital market in Austria.
Gerald Mayer, the CEO of AMAG Austria Metall AG, on the award, “Receiving the 'Effective Sustainability Communicator Award, once again confirms our holistic understanding of sustainability. This year's analysis focused primarily on the quality of sustainability reporting and paid particular attention to the integrative understanding of the topic of sustainability. The ongoing financial reporting, investor presentations and internet presence in investor relations served as a basis.
The assessment was carried out by the professorship of Accounting and Auditing at the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, headed by Prof. Dr Henning Zülch and the Hamburg-based consulting firm Kirchhoff Consult.
AMAG has been publishing a non-financial declaration for reporting purposes since 2017. It summarises the significant information for AMAG and its stakeholders on the aspects of environmental issues, employee matters, social issues, compliance regarding human rights, and combating corruption and bribery. The department for management systems, with its sections for occupational safety, quality management, energy, environmental and risk management, continuous improvement process and sustainability, is being coordinated by sustainability management.
