The upcoming virtual reality (VR) headset by Apple is expected to include iris scanning for biometric payments and log-ins, aluminium, luxury lightweight glass, and fabric construction. The feature is expected to be named 'Iris ID. Rumours also suggest that a high-end combination of textiles, aluminium, and glass will be used in the headset. According to the research, Apple's VR headset "is expected to integrate into" its ecosystem of devices, including AirPods, smartphones, and Apple Watch.
The headset may also be able to scan the irises of people wearing the headsets so they can quickly log into their accounts simply by putting the devices on their heads. This will allow multiple users to use the same device and make payments inside the headset.
According to the rumour, Apple VR would contain two cameras recording a user's legs and 14 cameras recording body motions. The headset will purportedly weigh less than the 722 grams of the Quest Pro and look like "a pair of ski goggles."
It also notes that Apple's reputation for upholding user privacy may work in Apple's favour. To save battery life, the headgear will apparently also offer a low refresh rate option, similar to the always-on display of its greatest iPhone, the iPhone 14 Pro, and Apple Watch Series 8.
