The quarterly results and the first nine months performance are gradually getting released for the bauxite segment, which has kept the industry highlighted, following the Guinea political unrest. However, in Guinea, Rusal produced 1.694 million tonnes of bauxite in 3Q2021, which was down by 6.77 per cent from 1.817 million tonnes a quarter earlier. Under the upstream sector, Hydro has announced a robust operation both in bauxite and alumina. Adjusted EBITDA earned from bauxite and alumina stood at NOK 1,055 million, reflecting a year-on-year rise of 83 per cent from NOK 578 million.

The two projects will generate potable, process, and firewater, as well as treat effluent from the port camp and activities. Rusal, the world’s largest aluminium producer outside China, has announced its operating results for the third quarter of 2021, which ended September 30. The company revealed that its bauxite production dropped 1.1 per cent Q-o-Q from 3.836 million tonnes to 3.792 million tonnes in 3Q2021. In total nine months, the production amounted to 11.429 million tonnes, up by 1.2 per cent from 11.298 million tonnes.
Hydro has announced in its quarterly results today that it has already reached the 2021 improvement target of NOK 5.1 billion during the third quarter of 2021 (ended on September 30), driven by global demand recovery and fiscal stimulus. As per the result revealed by Hydro, the company has achieved a 33 per cent hike in revenue from NOK 27,516 million in Q3 2020 to NOK 36,710 million in Q3 2021. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, it grew 6 per cent from NOK 34,559 million.
