UK’s superior aluminium extrusion provider, Capital Aluminium Extrusions Ltd. or Capalex in short, is planning to expand its business further with a £500,000 investment at its Cleator Moor manufacturing site. The company’s facility in West Cumbria currently has an employee list containing at least 50 names.
{alcircleadd}With this investment, Capalex wishes to increase its capacity and strengthen the prevailing methodologies on site. The company has already made vast investments to acquire robotics technology and, at this moment, is adding more machines to its site from where Capalex conducts foreign trade.
Capalex’s aluminium extrusions are sent worldwide to countries beyond Europe, the USA and South-East Asia and, obviously, its home ground, the UK.
Capalex is a one-stop solution for aluminium extrusions that provide services like heat treatment, powder coating, machining and assembly at its only site in Cumbria, UK. The company usually works with aluminium alloys, giving their products immense flexibility and the desired profile design.
The Capalex General Manager, Richard Owen, explained: “This investment and our constant commitment to improve our processes helps us retain our position as a leader in our industry and is good news not just for Capalex but also for Cleator Moor and the wider community.”
Owen further went on to illustrate: “The vast majority of people who work at Capalex live in the immediate surrounding area, many have worked with us for a long time and have developed their skills here and helped the company move forward with their proactive, problem-solving approach. Our customers range from very small engineering companies and start-ups to some of the biggest multinationals, spanning every market sector.”
“We provide a greater range of alloys and more flexibility on profile design, tolerances, quantities and lead times than many of the larger scale commercial extrusion companies. This can be particularly helpful to designers developing new products and for industries where flexible lower quantities, better tolerances and responsive, quick deliveries are paramount,” he ended his deposition.
Capalex is eager to create a wildflower meadow at its site after the new equipment arrives and starts running smoothly. The idea of regenerating the Leconfield site has been widely initiated by the Industrial Solutions Hub or ISH across West Cumbria.
The Managing Director of iSH, John Maddison, exemplified: “What Richard and the team at Capalex are delivering through innovation and investment, as well as environmental improvements, and all the positive impacts that have on the wider community, including for jobs and opportunities, is great to see. There are so many businesses in West Cumbria delivering pioneering solutions not just across the UK, but all around the world.”
“It’s what makes iSH so excited about how working collaboratively and joining the dots, we can achieve even more together. These are exciting times for the region,” he concluded.
Capalex essentially provides aid to customers experimenting with the foundations of new products, with a varied customer range coming from the automotive, defence, architectural, display, electronics, engineering, furniture, marine, rail, retail and signage sectors.
