According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China’s primary aluminium production declined 3.2 per cent from a year ago to 2.9 million tonnes in November, marking the fifth straight month of year-on-year declines. The total production of aluminium in the first 11 months of 2019 totalled at 32.13 million tonnes, down 0.6 per cent from the same period last year.
{alcircleadd}In October 2019, China’s primary aluminium production was 2.88 million tonnes after declining by 1.8 per cent from a year ago and 0.7 per cent from a month. This represents the fact that the world’s top aluminium maker’s production in November saw a marginal growth of 0.69 per cent month-on-month. Output until October was up by 0.7 per cent year-on-year.
NBS data also showed China’s production of 10 nonferrous metals, including copper, aluminium, lead, zinc and nickel totalled 5.11 million tonnes last month, up 4 per cent over the over.
In January to November, output of the 10 nonferrous metals amounted to 53.31 million tonnes, with a year-over-year increase of 3.9%.
