Designs Signage Solutions works on how to re-engineer the aluminium used for signs

EDITED BY : 3MINS READ

Designs Signage Solutions has introduced easy-to-store, reusable, and recyclable event solutions while also improving the quality of its 3D scanning procedures. And the emphasis on innovation is an essential aspect of the firm's development, resulting in 50 per cent growth as it marks its 30th anniversary, with the staff growing considerably. The business had to figure out how to re-engineer the aluminium used for the signage to be readily deconstructed and rebuilt for shipping. They also had to verify that the aluminium could endure the printing process and bad weather for its life.

"We're in a very competitive market, and so we need to create our own niches and efficiencies to ensure we can continue to grow. That's why we do so much R&D work - and the money we receive gets put back into the business and capital investment. Our whole senior leadership team is always looking at R&D and ways we can improve and have a point of difference over our competitors," said Rob Daysley.

Aluminium signs are appropriate for both indoor and outdoor usage, and are created from an aluminium sheet composite reinforced with a polyethylene plastic core, making them lightweight yet robust. For customers searching for high-quality, long-lasting outdoor signs, we propose aluminium signage. From its appropriate Innovation Drive basis, it defies the energy crises and skill shortages by developing its talent and creating power. Rob Daysley, managing director, said that research and development have always been at the heart of the company he founded in his parent's garage in 1993. The most recent phase was resolving a weather-proofing problem for signage that was frequently created, disassembled, and relocated, with the successful effort earning the government £100,000 in research and development tax exemption.

Signs at the MKM Stadium and Sewell Group Craven Park are prominent examples of the company's work in its hometown. Clients looking for eye-catching designs for windows, walls, and lighting installations are interested in workplace graphics. Designs Signage Solutions is also the preferred provider for MKM at new locations throughout the UK, and other vital national customers include Kwik Fit, Go Outdoors, Eurocell Building Plastics, and the fast-growing discount retailer One Below. Designs Signage Solutions has 50 employees, up from 40 a year ago, with another 10 scheduled to join in the coming year.

“The next 12 months look good. We have a very strong order book, we are getting through doors and we are getting listened to. We continue to invest and we are making changes to our marketing strategy that will keep us ahead. We are being invited to pitch for more UK-wide opportunities and we are continuing to improve our carbon footprint and our production. We are expanding the signage department by 30 per cent to keep up with demand and we have the option to increase the space for graphics in the same way. If the growth continues there will be an additional 10 people to help us build capacity. We have everything lined up for us to really grow now,” added Daysley.
