A fatal incident at the St Gallen factory in Switzerland occurred when a 25-year-old electrician almost lost his life after falling inside a 720 °C tub of molten aluminium. The man not only survived, but remarkably enough, he dragged himself out of his obvious predicament.
{alcircleadd}The man is now undergoing certain serious treatments for his severe burns. But it can be deemed as a miracle that the man survived the fall.
He was engrossed in his work around the furnace at the St Gallen factory when this horrible accident happened. The man fell through a trap door into the boiling metal beneath and was submerged up to his knees in the extremely hot aluminium.
In spite of being in complete pain, the man had to find his way out of the furnace and then the factory alarms were rung. Paramedics and doctors hurried to the scene of the occurrence even before the ambulance arrived to take him to the hospital immediately.
The police have currently launched a formal investigation regarding the case and its details, beginning with how this slip could happen.
In 2014, a horrifying incident rocked the same foundry where a man was left with intense burns on his face.
Maybe this time, the man has been saved by his own will, but this won’t be the case for long. Incidents like this in a foundry are not acceptable at all. The firms require to keep up with the safety discretions given to them.
Very recently, another such incident happened in Iran where the molten liquid metal came crashing on the factory floor with the potential of hurting many workers in the vicinity. The video was available from the foundry CCTV where it’s clear how a man escapes at the last moment from sure death.
In the video, we can see the full extent of the danger where the molten material covers the floor and destroys the entire landscape beneath, gulping the floor itself. The liquid metal looked like lava as it fell to the floor consuming the factory floor in a single flow.
The video came out in January and went viral in a moment and the world, for the first time, saw the dangers of an incompetent factory environment.
These incidents are eye-openers to us because we should be more careful while working with such high-temperature materials. However, we wish all the very best to the worker for his health and pray this will not happen again.
