Hydro's aluminium extrusion facility at Spanish Fork, Utah, became the first location in the United States to be powered by 100 per cent renewable energy. The aluminium extrusion facility entered into a long-term agreement of eight years in July with the City of Spanish Fork and the Utah Municipal Power Agency to purchase locally generated power from two recently finished photovoltaic solar systems.
{alcircleadd}Hydro Spanish Fork is one of the most important suppliers to the manufacturing sector. Hydro Spanish Fork can create distinctive bespoke mixes of aluminium alloy for customers with particular performance needs, thanks to on-site billet casting.
The Spanish Fork plant joins Hydro's Pointe-Claire, Quebec complex, which uses only hydroelectric power, as the second location in North America to achieve this milestone. Additionally, Hydro's Cressona, Pennsylvania plant will only use renewable energy to power its entire electrical demand after a new solar field is finished in the first half of 2023.
