IIT Delhi start-up aids ZEVO in developing India’s first temperature-controlled vehicles with aluminium

ZEVO's innovation in temperature-controlled logistics (TCL) using aluminium is set to transform the industry. With increasing energy costs and climate change challenges, TCL providers must adapt to decarbonise and meet regulatory requirements. ZEVO's cutting-edge technology, developed in collaboration with IIT Delhi's Machphy Solutions, offers a range of benefits for EV operators, including enhanced durability through the use of composite materials and aluminium in REV L5 construction.

ZEVO's system operates with an overnight plug-in electric charge, enabling intracity operations for up to 16 hours at -20 °C and a range of 120 km using PCM-based technology. The system is tailored for EV operators, offering lightweight, corrosion-resistant features without relying on expensive lithium batteries to maintain the required payload temperature. It caters to chilled, frozen, and ultra-low temperature operations, utilising proprietary technology leveraging advanced thermal materials for efficient energy storage compared to alternative technologies.

ZEVO's innovation is a game-changing development for Pharmaceutical, QSR, Seafood, Dairy, and FMCG Industries in the temperature-controlled last-mile delivery segment. The aluminium used in the REV L5 construction makes it a leader in sustainable refrigeration, which is a critical factor for TCL providers to meet regulatory requirements and reduce the impact of climate change.
