IPL Brands BV launches iconic French wine in 200ml aluminium cans

In South Korea, the Beaujolais Nouveau has been introduced by the Amsterdam-based Dutch business IPL Brands BV, which is well-known for its high-quality sparkling wines. This famous French wine will be sold in 200 ml aluminium cans made by Ardagh Metal Packaging (AMP). French Beaujolais and Beaujolais Village areas, located north of Lyon, produce the delicious red Beaujolais Nouveau, created from Gamay grapes. Among the "vin de primeur" (young wines) that are meant to be drunk the year they are produced, you'll find Beaujolais Nouveau. At first, it was performed to mark the completion of the harvest.

Jacek Madry, chief commercial officer at Ardagh Metal Packaging Europe, said, "It is really gratifying to see that consumers in Asia can enjoy Beaujolais Nouveau in our cans this year. Our Wine Cans are hermetic to light and air to protect the flavour and aromas of such a young wine."

The third Thursday of November is the official release date. The wine and its celebration have been famous throughout France since the 1960s. It started in Europe, went to North America in the 1980s, and then Asia in the 1990s. Then its fame started to wane, but after a twenty-year hiatus, Beaujolais is returning triumphantly, this time attracting a younger demographic with its improved quality.

The majority of young Beaujolais wines arrive in South Korea via plane. Cans are the ideal packaging for goods transport since they are shatterproof, lightweight, stackable and straightforward to handle while also efficiently using space during travel. Aluminium Cans are suitable for single-serving servings and residential delivery.

According to the Wine Intelligence Attractiveness Compass Model 2021, South Korea's wine industry is one of the fastest-growing globally, and it has continued to show strong growth even in 2022. Most South Koreans (around 80%) prefer to drink wine at home because of the country's emphasis on leisurely drinking. For any drinking needs, AMP has you covered with their wine cans.

The French speciality cannery ICT Drinks (In Can we Trust) fills the cans. The new location of this family-run company is devoted only to the canning of wine. When it comes to packaging delicate and valuable drinks, ICT Drinks is the expert. Any merchant, winery, or cooperative may now offer its wine in cans, catering to a younger demographic and satisfying a shifting market need.

The design and decorative options for the can are almost limitless, from the can end to the full can body. This creative freedom motivates winemakers to choose cans as the ideal packaging to emphasise the kind of wine. The appealing can design by IPL Brands features the Eiffel Tower on a crimson backdrop to highlight the wine's French provenance. A matte surface on the can also generates a pleasant touch experience and gives the goods a premium appearance.
