On Monday, April 25, NALCO CMD Sridhar Patra and MIDHANI CMD Sanjay Kumar Jha reportedly met the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to apprise the problems related to infrastructure for setting up a high-end aluminium alloy products manufacturing plant in Nellore.
{alcircleadd}On receiving the complaints, the Chief Minister directed the officials concerned to look into the issues. Mr Reddy also suggested NALCO and MIDHANI to set up an MSME park in addition to this project to meet the needs of equipment manufacturers in defence allied sectors.
The upcoming high-end aluminium alloy products manufacturing plant involves a cost of INR 5,500 crore. It will have a production capacity of 60,000 tonnes and create direct and indirect employment to 750-1000 people at Bodduvaripalem in Kodavaluru mandal of Nellore district under the auspices of Utkarsha Aluminium Dhatu Nigam Limited (UADNL), a joint venture company of NALCO and MIDHANI.
Machilipatnam MP Bala Showry, APIIC VC and MD JNV Subramaniam, Industries director Srijana and CMO officials were also present in the meeting.
